I've been a "news hound" since I was a kid delivering the Buffalo paper to my neighbors in Chautauqua County. I really caught the bug my freshman year at Central College in Kansas. I became editor of the campus paper, learned how to use a camera, and found out that journalism is a great way to strike up a conversation with just about anybody. And I've been doing that ever since. I'm genuinely interested in people – especially the everyday heroes who quietly, steadily, nobly make our communities safer, stronger, more peaceful places to live.
