Innovating and iterating experiences on mec.ca, helping members find the equipment they need to get outdoors and have fun. Delivering multiple large project across the mec.ca site, from a new homepage hero that uses personalisation logic, launching a "My Store" component in the main navigation, to redeveloping the checkout experience to use client side rendered components which delivers a faster and more visually appealing design.Working daily with Javascript, ES6, React, CSS with LESS and server side HTML and JSP templates. I unit test with Karma, Jasmine and Enzyme and write end to end tests with Nightwatch.We continually transition our codebase from being server side rendered templates to client side React components.The project team I work on won the 2019 Vancouver UX Award for ECommerce. This was delivering a great UX experience to launch 2 hour in store pickup for our members. Completed Projects:- Migration of Home Hero Banner to React, and updated to use Certona personalisation to show relevant content to members.- Rebuild of checkout components to React, as part of a UX & UI refresh, while also allowing development of an API driven experience.- Development of "My Store" feature in global navigation.- Developed Brand landing pages for Merchandising & Marketing teams.- Worked as part of a team redeveloping the Global Navigation as a React component.- Rebuilding and deploying new order confirmation email templates- Developing global components for promo/sale messaging on products and throughout checkout- Planned the re-architect of the checkout experience to be its own PWA, as we move towards the global site being client side rendered.

Working with a varied mix of technologies from React, Redux and Webpack through to Sass, Wordpress, PHP and Twig. I create, maintain and deploy custom built websites and web apps. I provide estimates for Project Managers and help plan and develop new websites as well as perform scheduled security and database maintenance.

As an Instructor I lead classes through the LLC curriculum and introduce the fundamentals of HTML and CSS in a fun and inclusive way. When mentoring I offer help one on one and help to troubleshoot issues, as well as encouraging more advanced challenges to students who are looking to push themselves. A very rewarding position, where I can give back to an industry that I love.

Helping to deliver the Part Time course curriculum, as a teaching assistant I helps students one on one to problem solve and learn.We cover HTML, CSS and Javascript/jQuery over 10 weeks and it's something I enjoy doing.

-Managed a staff of 90+ instructors-Scheduled weekly and quickly managing any changes.-Liaising, managing large schools and groups.

This position involved meeting with clients to determine their needs and develop solutions, using up to date frameworks and languages. I worked with Bootstrap, Expression Engine and Wordpress which included using PHP, Javascript and Sass.

Working as a snowboard instructor, taking clients from complete beginners to advanced riders.
