I have focused on and been passionate about Computer Science and Mathematics since before my time at Penn State University. Shortly before transferring to Penn State, I worked as a programmer and reporter for Silverback Network, dealing with reporting metrics for our call centers as well as advertising, to a lesser degree. I built a level of experience with Perl, for both reports and CGI.My focus later went to school, though I ultimately had to return to working two jobs to pay for my time there. Even though I was pressed for time, I stayed motivated and managed to achieve Pi Mu Epsilon, a National Mathematics Honors Society chapter, as well as a high GPA, a published paper on Software Testing, and a Mathematics minor. I challenged myself with some graduate level courses, and my mathematics education includes Linear and Abstract Algebra, and Real Analysis. Our capstone project involved management and integration with two other teams totaling 15 members, using an open source stack and AngularJS (e.g. Angular 1). I also learned some Android development, which I continue to pursue in my free time.Shortly after graduating, I left my two retail/customer service employers to work at Duquesne Fund Services, where I developed additional experience in C#, Perl, TypeScript, the Microsoft Stack, Unix, Databases, financial technology software from vendors such as Advent, and general Web development. I also used frameworks such as Angular (version 2 and above) and AG-Grid.While Software development is my predominant focus, I also have experience in working with customers from my current job and nearly 9 years of combined retail experience, through email, phone, and in person.I am interested in Data Science and Video Game Development, so I try to investigate these fields in my free time to continue to challenge myself and build additional skills which should hopefully improve my ability in any development job.
