Worked in a variety of roles as part of a team for the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups.Delivered under high pressure with very tight deadlines of less than an hour, with content being broadcast to tens of millions of people around the world.Applied language skills, translating pre-match and post-match interviews and other content from French and Spanish into English.Proofread colleagues’ translations, demonstrating acute attention to detail. Edited translations to ensure that they read well for the target audience and always used appropriate football terminology. Inputted final copy into specialist subtitling software.One of my pieces of work, an interview with Hervé Renard, was shared by @FIFAWorldCup to over 6 million followers.

• Funded to conduct a long-term research project, investigating a social movement in Spain, which lobbies the state to provide justice for victims of human rights abuses.• Track record of managing multiple tasks with competing priorities whilst successfully meeting deadlines and never compromising on quality. A self-starter, capable of working with minimal supervision. Overcame COVID-19 obstacles by adapting project.• Excels at writing and crafting an engaging narrative. Led social media campaigns and designed media to publicise all these extracurricular events.

This was a customer service role using my proficiency in French and in Spanish.Demonstrated exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.Carried out administrative tasks, such as processing warranty repairs and updating databases.

• I was responsible for managing my own large caseload of candidates undergoing 5 year pre-employment screening checks. I worked with clients such as Lloyds and Capita, following their strict, bespoke policies intended to identify and avoid risk in their employment process and working to their tight deadlines.• This role required not only an exceptionally high level of customer service but also strong communicative and interpersonal skills as I was required to be in telephone and e-mail contact with clients and with candidates at all times. My knowledge of languages also enabled me to contact French and Spanish businesses.• Candidates provided very sensitive, personal data to Security Watchdog and in addition to being empathetic to this fact, my work also had to comply with the Data Protection Act and to pass the company’s internal auditing process.• Full technical literacy was required, particularly with regards to Microsoft Office.

As part of my university course, I worked as an English Language Assistant in 2 schools in Ermua for 8 months. My students were between the ages of 12 and 16. In terms of my language, it was really beneficial to be in a workplace where I could practise my Spanish each day with my colleagues.I started the job with no experience of teaching but I learned a lot on the job. I was responsible for preparing and delivering classes- two very different skills. My lessons were on a variety of topics, such as British culture, grammar points, songs, the importance of the English language, and crucially, making them practise speaking English. I was teaching students with different ages and different abilities and no two classes were the same; therefore, I had to adjust each of my lessons to make it accessible for all of the students which I was teaching.Having had no previous experience, it was an occasionally challenging start to working life but on the whole, I really enjoyed it and it has made me seriously think about teaching in the future. The children I was teaching were great and made each day more enjoyable. In the role, I learned a lot of new skills and I overcame obstacles, becoming more adaptable in the process.

My responsibilities include working on the shop floor, behind the till and in the stock room, caring for customers, keeping the store tidy and importantly, ensuring that local people continue to prefer One Stop to other supermarkets. I was part of the team that broke our store's weekly sales record. Similarly, I helped the store to remain the most profitable One Stop store in the South region.
