Sara and I have based on retirement on four pillars; family (and friends), volunteering, recreation, and travel, with our faith as the foundation for these pillars. We are grateful for all our blessings and wish everyone all the best.

As part of a long-planned transition, Hilltop Aspires, Inc., has taken over the administrative responsibilities for Dear Neighbor Ministries and StepStone from the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph. This transfer was initiated by the Congregation in late 2019. Hilltop Aspires, Inc., the newly-created parent company, took over these duties on January 1st, 2022. The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph remain avid and faithful supporters of both ministries. The missions of both Dear Neighbor Ministries and StepStone remain unchanged.I am honored to have been chosen to serve as the first Chair of the Board of Directors for Hilltop Aspires, Inc, and enjoyed working with others to build upon the marvelous accomplishments of both ministries. They have made a profound impact on our community. I also serve as a trustee of the newly created retirement plan for employees of Hilltop Aspires, Inc.

As a Representative Payee, I manage checking accounts for several people who receive SSI or SSDI benefits.I am also an IRS-certified volunteer in the VITA program providing free basic income tax return preparation to qualified individuals.

I had the honor and privilege of serving as Board Chair for Dear Neighbor Ministries and StepStone. I enjoyed leading our team and learned a lot about social work and fundraising. I am pleased that we worked together to expand both ministries and strengthen their financial positions.

I served as Treasurer for four years and as Board Chair-Elect for two years.Dear Neighbor Ministries provides a variety of support and skills-building services to individuals, primarily in the Hilltop area. I served as club president for the 2014-15 Rotary year. Our club raised then-record amounts for both the Rotary Foundation and our own West Wichita Charitable Foundation. This allowed us to expand our support of literary activities at both Lawrence and Benton Elementary schools, increase the number of scholarships awarded to local graduating high school seniors, and purchase groceries for 48 needy families. We also hosted five teachers from Argentina for our teacher exchange program, sponsored a project at Starkey, and participated in various events throughout our community.

Directed budget allocation and financial performance monitoring activities for a $70+ billion organization, including the development of the company's Integrated Financial Plan.Provided support, analysis, and presentation materials on budget issues and financial performance to the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and the Board of Governors.Prepared and presented financial information to government oversight agencies, including Congressional subcommittees, the Postal Regulatory Commission, the Government Accountability Office, and the Office of Inspector General.Managed a staff of three executives and approximately thirty staff members at USPS HQ in Washington DC, as well as coordinating the tasks and systems support for approximately 300 technical staff members domiciled in areas and districts throughout the country.Prior to that, during my 30-year postal career, I held positions of increasing responsibility in the Finance function in Wichita, Little Rock, Dallas, St. Louis, and Washington DC.
