Lead mechanical engineering team leader focused on NPI (new product introduction) and sustaining engineering of existing product lines. Collaborated closing with scientists and engineers on all aspects from requirements creation, design, prototyping, compliance, verification, validation to manufacturing handoff. As the sole mechanical engineer, responsible for all NPI and sustaining mechanical engineering. Led efforts to transfer manufacturing process of the SPS to Perkinelmer manufacturing. Managed and led the mechanical efforts for the Cal-ion air pump project. Assisted with the integration of Torion's PDM (Product Documentation Management) into Perkinelmer's PDM.⦁ Assisted with the creation of requirements, schedule and budget for the Cal-ion hand held air pump. This pump was designed to use a mass flow sensor to provide accurate flow rates and volumes regardless of back pressure. This design was awarded a patent.⦁ Designed a side-hole needle trap for the GC/TMS portable instrument and a variant that allowed the needle to be detached from the handle for use with air collection accessories. For example, these accessories were used to sample air from almond shipping containers or used by US Border Patrol agents checking for large amounts of currency in vehicles.⦁ Designed a purge and trap module for the SPS. The SPS architecture allowed for the modules to be easily swapped in as needed. This project required fluid control, heat transfer and management, mechanical interlocking and considerations for mechanical design (Design for Safety, Reliability, manufacturability and functionality).⦁ Certified Solidworks Professional with certifications in sheet metal design and drawings

As an associate mechanical engineer, provided opportunities to design ancillary components for the portable GC/MS system. Responsibilities increased to include design support of critical sub-systems such as the GC module and TMS. Fostered new manufacturing skills, such as brazing and micro-tube bending, to assemble GC transfer lines and GC injector liners. Managed (requirements, schedules and budgets) and design responsibilities for three separate projects: BACS (Bio-Agent Capture System and SPS). Utilized prototyping skills available to assist in development of projects such as 3D printing, brazing, tube bending and wire harness. Performed FEA (Finite Element Analysis and thermal analysis and verification and validation on all aspects of the design.⦁ Project manager for BACS system which included requirements, schedule and budget creation. The BACS was a DTRA SBIR to collect and analyze anthrax spores. The original requirement was to collect the spores and prepare them to be analyzed by a Torion Portable GC/TMS. Collaborating with the electrical engineer and scientists on design, concepts and system integration. Provided all mechanical design, documentation, prototype assembly, verification, validation.⦁ Designed a vial capping system for the BACS system which included a mechanism to insert a cap over the vial then the cap would rise into a circular 4-jaw crimper.⦁ Designed a liquid introduction system to precisely and accurately meter out 10mL of nitric acid to the vials. This required the use of proper material selection and liquid controls.⦁ Project manager and mechanical engineer for the SPS (Sample Preparation System). Managed the requirements, schedules and budget for the entire project along with providing system integration. ⦁ Designed a clamping mechanism to shuttle heating blocks to a target tube. This allowed the heating of the tube from ambient to 300C in less then a minute.

Provided Apple and PC based repair service and technical support to students and faculty. Provided sales and technical support to Bookstore staff.⦁ Each summer, received, inventoried, refurbished (added more RAM), installed OS, troubleshoot if needed and verified and validated operation of 250 PCs.

Managed sales for Apple and PC-based systems and peripheries to the local school district, companies and individuals. Provided technical support which included phone and on-site punctual service calls. Responsibilities were increased to include all Apple laptop and desktop repairs as well as all printer repairs. Skills were enhanced to include network infrastructure installation which included wire pulling, termination and signal integrity testing. ⦁ 3Com Networking Installation and Troubleshooting Certified.⦁ HP Managed Switches and Hubs Certified.⦁ Network Essentials Certified.⦁ Re-Certified to repair all Apple and HP hardware.⦁ Setup complete network for Red Cliffs Spa which included pulling, terminating and testing over 100 network drops and setting up and configuring all their managed switches.⦁ Installed network infrastructure for all new Village Bank branches.

Started out as an entry-level service technician but was promoted to service manager within 3 month. Managed a team of three technicians which included hiring, mentoring and providing the basic skills to troubleshoot computer hardware and software on Apple and PC devices. Provided phone support as well as support to the sales team which included hardware demonstrations, configuration, on-site installation and follow up verification that their expectations were met. Learned to navigate stressful situations while balancing customers needs with currently available solutions.⦁ Apple Certified to repair all Laptop and Desktops.⦁ Microsoft Certified on Windows 95, 98, Windows NT, Windows NT Server.⦁ HP Certified to repair all LaserJet and DeskJet Printers.⦁ Increased Service Center sales and support by 50% year over year.⦁ Instrumental in securing and fulfilling 300 computer sale to local school district which included managing the entire assembly, configuration and installation process.

In-class instructional aide providing support to faculty. Assisted in mitigating and moderating highly stressful behavioral episodes between students and teachers. Placed in charge of leading math, science and basic reading courses for entire class or one-on-one with students.⦁ Used my fluency in the Spanish language to facilitate communication between the students parents and the faculty.⦁ With the school districts support, learned how to maintain and troubleshoot site Apple and PC-based computers and printers which reduced the need for replacing or sending technician.
