I joined the United States Army immediately after high school and served with the 82nd Airborne Division from 1997 until 2000. I served as a grenadier, automatic rifleman, rifleman, machine gunner, team leader and an EIB cadre member for the battalion. I joined the Graham Police Department in June of 2001. My military experience helped me to advance at this agency. From 2001 until 2015 I was assigned to the Patrol Division. While on patrol, I served as a SRT operator, field training officer, and was promoted to corporal in 2003. I was promoted to sergeant in 2006, and took on the role of the Field Training Coordinator and became a Traffic Crash Reconstructionist. In November of 2015 after completing the Administrative Officers Management Program at NC State University, I was reassigned to the Administrative Division as the Training Coordinator. Along with coordinating training for the agency, I supervised the SRO's and our animal control officer. I also handled the recruiting and training committees, and conducted background investigations on applicants. In November of 2017 I returned to patrol and coordinating field training for new officers. In June of 2018 I was promoted to Lieutenant and took over as the Patrol Operations Division Commander, overseeing the Sergeants that supervise the 4 Patrol platoons as well as the animal control officer and the traffic unit. In March of 2021 the division commanders were re-designated as Captains instead of Lieutenants to prepare for restructuring and growth within the agency. In October 2021 I was reassigned as the commander of the Support Services Division overseeing Training/ SRO's, community events, CALEA, Evidence and the took over the role as the agency PIO.
