Established this business to provide support and advice to public and private sector organisations in Transport and Development Planning. The Business opened formally on the 1st March 2015.Tony has experience as Board Director of several corporate businesses with senior responsibility for growth and resilience. He is Managing Director of an SME and an Advisor within the ibd Group established to support and guide businesses across a wide range of sectors.Tony has been engaged in takeovers and mergers and has developed strategies for business improvement during times of growth and recession. This has on occasions required a sensitive restructuring which recognises the experience and capabilities of individuals. Tony has experience of recruiting and developing staff.He has also been responsible for meeting budgeted expenditure, income and targets and is experienced in the formulation of marketing plans and publicity, including the identification of new business.

Basingstoke

I assumed responsibility for strategy and development within the sector incorporating services in all aspects of planning, transport and environment. There are some 800 staff within the sector and my responsibilities included the identification of new business and markets together with the development of a Work Winning team. I also continued to undertake technical work for clients; commissions included Bank Station, London, HS2 and CrossRail.

London

I was appointed to this position within Scott Wilson to bring together the disparate elements of the Transport business in the UK and internationally. I sat on the Strategic Consultancy Board and contributed to decisions in this sector. During my time in this role I gained responsibility for a Master Planning Team and an Economic and Development team complementing the diverse teams already operating within the group. As well as my leadership role in the business, I continued to be engaged by clients in an advisory capacity in both the private and public sectors.

Basingstoke

I was appointed to a newly established post in sustainable transport with the objective of assembling a team within the then Development division of the business. Over the course of my time with WSP I grew the team to 175 full time personnel. As Director for Integrated Transport, key responsibilities included the extension and enhancement of the capabilities of the company in sustainable transport, land use policy and the development of innovative approaches to meeting travel needs.

Chichester

This appointment was created to develop a team with cross cutting capabilities in passenger transport and land use planning. My main responsibilities were to direct staff; manage consultants; ensure budgeted expenditure, income and targets were met; and to recommend strategies, action plans and resources to achieve county and departmental objectives. This post also involved defining innovative solutions to enhance the quality of public transport; and contributing to the formulation and implementation of the local transport plan and structure plan.

I was recruited into this post in the five star Department of City and Regional Planning to revise and develop the Masters Degree in Transport Studies. I was also engaged to provide a Lecture programme in transport and land use planning on both undergraduate and post graduate courses. Whilst at the University I undertook a range of research projects.

I joined the business to extend the capability in Transport regulation and privatisation and was seconded to the New Zealand office to provide advice to the New Zealand Government and authorities (1988-1989). I returned to England in 1989 where I assisted in setting up the Leeds office.
