Responsible for all aspects of the development and underwriting of the RSA SME Properties proposition.Designed for property owners and those who derive rental income from the ownership and letting of commercial and residential premises in the UK. Whilst this covers all the RSA routes to market, I specialise in eTrading via extranet, Remote Product Distribution (RPD) by software house and integrated transactions to industry standard (imarket). Reviewing allocated large, complex or specialist cases and delivering underwriting decisions, following agreed processes at the designated authority level, in order to secure profitable business within the agreed risk appetite. Leading and/or contributing to technical audits and peer review processes as required to support and enable the maintenance of an effective control environment.Contributing to the development and maintenance of accurate, up-to-date technical procedures, process manuals, documentation standards to ensure company, legal and regulatory requirements are met. Providing advice and guidance on the production of new policy wordings or reviewing existing policy wordings to ensure customer documentation is current, fair and accurate. Managing internal and external customer interactions in an efficient and timely manner in order to deliver high standards of customer satisfaction. Providing expert advice, guidance and coaching to less qualified and/or experienced colleagues to address technical referrals and raise standards and expertise across the technical community.  Product responsibility for RSA's SME property owners proposition including development and maintenance of e-trade solution, KPI monitoring and stakeholder management. Technical insurance role in developing people and products, including training delivery and author of technical content.  Subject Matter Expert for development and delivery of new products and propositions as part of SME Transformation Programme.

 RSA subsidiary transacting commercial and personal lines insurances. Conducted technical audit in 2008 then went on secondment to implement action plan. Introduced new underwriting licence framework and self audit process.  The self-contained nature of this subsidiary led to my involvement in a diverse range of management activity; recruitment, people development and coaching, performance management, local board presentations, broker relationship management, service delivery, IT planning and stakeholder management.

 Part of the first RSA Underwriting File Review in 2002, managed by Accenture, and responsible for the subsequent Liability Calibration training, including development of materials and delivery.  Involved in technical audits and UFR for Casualty, ProFin (Personal Accident and Professional Indemnity).  Researched the development of strategy on the Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults, including negotiation with reinsurers, delivery of training to underwriters and surveyors, consultation with external agencies (NSPCC) and development of risk management guidelines.  Secondment to Change Programme as Subject Matter Expert and the development and delivery of the contractors products, including production and delivery of training.  Created new underwriting licence framework for contractors insurances.
