Ever since I was a child, I have always had an unshakable interest in working in the field of law enforcement, specifically for local police departments. In an effort to pursue that interest, I have taken the law enforcement class at Lone Peak High School numerous times and been a teacher’s assistant for the teacher on multiple occasions. To further my interest out of the classroom, I began to go on ride-alongs (being a passenger in a patrol car with a police officer doing that officer’s day to day activities) with the Lone Peak Police Department and it has been an overall great experience. After participating in numerous ride-alongs with the LPPD, I have learned a lot about police work, such as there are three sides to a story: side A, side B, and the truth, which taught me not to rely on one side.
