As well as this I was responsible for co-ordinating Quality Alcohol and Drug Serves (QuADS) for the organisation. Due to my previous experience at First Step and Bridge House, I became a member of the Albert Centres Voluntary Training Committee, which is responsible for the development and training of the counsellors. I have produced and delivered information/education packages for the inmates of HMP Kirklevington (at the time one of three resettlement prisons in the UK). The courses consisted of drug awareness (including alcohol), anger management, coping and understanding stress and group work scenarios. The courses worked around the model of cognitive behavioural approaches with regards to challenging the anti-social behaviour of the inmates. I have also been asked back to First Step in order to mediate client groups with regards to alcohol and drug misuse, as part of their rehabilitation programme.

As a youth worker my main task is to empower young people so that they can make their own decisions during the transition of childhood to adulthood. As a youth worker I saw my role to provide social education and raise a number of social issues with young people.
