Touré Burgess has nearly a decade of experience in public relations, strategic communications, and public affairs and government relations operating within various agencies, corporations, trade associations, and nonprofit organizations. At Chobani ❤️ La Colombe, Touré sits on the Global Impact team covering local, state, and federal government affairs. In this role, he strategizes around implementing innovative programs that advance the company’s goals and impact initiatives. His focus areas include federal nutrition programs, government incentives, and stakeholder engagement. Touré also serves as the Chair of the company’s internal Black and Allies employee resource group (ERG). Touré previously led communications and content for the New York Jobs CEO Council, a nonprofit organization dedicated to leveraging the power of New York's business community to place 100,000 low-income New Yorkers into high-paying, family-sustaining wage jobs, by 2030. Prior to joining the New York Jobs CEO Council, Touré was on the Public Affairs team at CLEAR executing consumer PR, executive communications, and events and engagements across the company. Throughout his career, Touré has worked at several award-winning strategic communications and public relations agencies, leading media and technology initiatives for an array of Fortune 500 companies and startups. Touré started in the communications space in the Crisis Management practice at Abernathy MacGregor (now H/Advisors). Touré has also developed a robust public affairs and government relations background having worked in Washington, DC as a policy analyst with Empire Consulting Group, on the public policy and government relations team with the Council on Foundations, and in positions as a research assistant with the United States Senate Homeland Security Governmental Affairs Committee and the United State House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security, respectively.Mr. Burgess is a graduate of Howard University in Washington, D.C. with a degree in Business Management and a specialty in Leadership Studies. He also completed a minor in Mass Communications. He currently serves on the Executive Board of the Black Public Relations Society of New York (BPRS-NY) as Vice President of Operations; Young Leaders’ Council advisory board of United Way NYC; and as a member of the New York Urban League Young Professionals (NYULYP), National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), and Public Relations Society of America (NY).
