With a background in Private Equity, Trevor’s holdings have largely been African commodity and logistics focused. These include primary agricultural assets, railway rolling stock, rail engineering, corridor operations, warehousing and back of port terminals. Previously, Trevor was an executive Director of Africa Rolling Stock Solutions RDC SA, a freight rail company operating under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) on the DRC corridor between the river port of Matadi and the city of Kinshasa. In addition, Trevor has played advisory roles for both Impala Terminals (www.impalaterminals.com) and various African railway stakeholders, primarily associated with logistics solutions in and out of southern Africa and the central African copperbelt. Trevor has also been a Director at Surtees Group Holdings, a 73-year-old integrated group rail engineering companies well established in servicing the African rail sector (www.surtees.co.za).Trevor is a Trustee of the John Smit Foundation, the Charitable Trust of the former Springbok and 2007 World Cup winning rugby Captain. The focus of the John Smit Foundation is the raising of awareness and financial support of worthy causes such as the Liv-Village; a foster home environment for Africa’s neglected children, the Bobbi Bear Foundation for abused toddlers and the Chris Burger Petro Jackson Fund for physically handicapped former rugby players (www.barneysarmy.co.za).Trevor trained at Arthur Andersen in the UK and holds a degree in Land Economy and Management Studies (BA Hons, MA) from the University of Cambridge together with three Blues for Rugby Union.
