Growing up, I often was not sure on what I had wanted to do for my future. I would fluctuate between careers, but in the end, they all had one common denominator: bettering the community around me. Being a first-generation, low-income student, the community that surrounded me was not often aware of environmental issues and the impact a person could make, and this motivated me to change that. My goals began to grow broader from helping the community to helping the environment that is around me. I am excited to be the advocate for environmental issues and sustainable practices that I had not seen myself when growing up. Having attended the University of Southern California, I know that this will present me opportunities to do what I had wanted for so long ― bettering our Earth.
