This role provided a hands-on experience across the specialties such as marine, aviation, international property & terror, natural resources and construction.- Developed a strong understanding of risk and compliance frameworks whilst analysing market trends and insurance products. This included updating schedules with new terms and lines.- Built and maintained client relationships, effectively assessing their needs and providing tailored insurance solutions through the production and review of slips.- Engaged in treaty and facultative placements, differentiating between XOL (Excess of Loss) and Proportional reinsurance structures.- Participated in client meetings, enhancing negotiation skills and fostering trust with stakeholders.- Supported strategic planning initiatives, including budgeting and the creation of PowerPoint presentations.- Demonstrated strong analytical skills by evaluating policies and making data-driven decisions to optimise client outcomes.

This role consisted of:- Use of CAD software to design certain aerodynamic models and virtual simulation using CFD and FEA analysis to assess safety, validity and accuracy as well as produce any design optimisations.- Facilitating 3 cross-team meetings, enhancing communication efficiency for complex design discussions within engineering projects. - Exposure to physical testing of prototypes from an electrical testing of voltage outputs and efficiencies to mechanical testing such as tensile stresses.- Supporting senior engineer in successful product launch, gaining insight into legal and financial aspects, including bill of materials analysis and optimising manufacturing processes.

This role consisted of:- Producing design optimisations of cutting heads and the different machine parts using CAD. Providing familiarity with such software.- Developing a detailed route proposal, incorporating 3 sudden bends, enhancing problem-solving skills, and ensuring efficient installation of prefabricated pieces, contributing to 10% reduction in material usage.- Designing TBM cutter heads for different scenarios, such as grinders for tough rock and blades for soil.- Developing understanding in how topography affects the building of the tunnel such as soil type and the considerations in the route and tools required.- Conducting 2 site visits, enhancing project management and teamwork skills through practical experience.
