I’m a new social worker with a background as a comfort care aide for individuals with dementia, bringing compassion, patience, and experience from a healthcare setting. I transitioned to social work from a career in visual effects, where I enjoyed creative work but felt I was missing the deeper meaning, purpose, and opportunity for advocacy that I desired in my career.My time in dementia care has shown me the profound impact that empathetic, person-centered support can have, and it’s deepened my commitment to making a difference in people’s lives. This experience has strengthened my listening, communication, and advocacy skills, which I’m eager to apply across all areas of social work practice.I’m passionate about supporting individuals, families, and communities, whether it’s through direct service, community outreach, or policy work.
