Acting Team Leader/Senior Residential Support Worker & Key Worker
Anne Sullivan Centre
The Anne Sullivan Centre is primarily a home for life, as a residential and educational centre for Deaf/Blind people, with additional disabilities. The centre is also available as an information and advisory centre for professionals, parents and other agencies. This life-long home is a centre of excellence in the educational, psychological and emotional care of each resident. By constantly monitoring, recording and assessing the needs of the residents, a set of aims and objectives can be realistically set for each individual, who is regularly monitored and assessed on an on-going basis so they can be helped to achieve their full potential. In my current role, I act as team leader when required, I am a key worker and also support other key workers in their roles. I am part of the training team for new members of staff and would help facilitate the induction process. I am chairperson of the activities committee and facilitate activities and holidays both on and off the premises, also conducting all the risk assessments for these. I am very involved in the Person Centred Planning process and also made PCP accessible to our Service User. I would be a strong advocate for our Service Users and I have forged a great working relationships with the families, the MDT and my colleagues. I have a great work ethic and drive to succeed, I always want what is best for the Service Users. I have huge passion for my work here in the Anne Sullivan Centre,
