With nearly 15 years’ experience in the affordable housing industry, I am now embarking on a new chapter as an owner/developer/consultant. My career began with a solid foundation in property management, where I spent five years at the corporate level overseeing a portfolio of up to 57 communities. I then transitioned to development where I have dedicated the past decade. In that time, I have received 38 competitive LIHTC awards totaling over $28MM in annual tax credits to build more than 1,800 affordable units across the country. I am fortunate to work with an incredible group of professionals who are guiding me through each stage of the development process—from conceptual modeling to application to construction and through stabilization—as I learn all aspects of the affordable housing industry.

Prepared, organized, and proofread documents to apply for Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) and HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funds. Read and analyzed the Qualified Allocation Plans for all potential allocating agencies and research opportunities to strategically maximize scoring.Assisted in the research, evaluation, and selection of properties for acquisition and development.Gathered and interpreted data to assist in property acquisitions, including compiling and analyzing demographic information.Conducted due diligence on properties being considered for acquisition and development, including zoning regulations, FEMA flood hazards, market studies, Section 106 and Fish & Wildlife clearance, etc.Assisted in the financial evaluation and negotiation of property acquisitions.Coordinated with the Architect, General Contractor, and Management Company to determine the developments’ amenities and energy efficiency items.Monitored the organization’s portfolio and tracked the previous participation in various affordable housing programs.

Assisted in the operation of a property management company whose portfolio included over 55 apartment communities (including high-end market rate, independent senior living, lease-ups, and Section 42 LIHTC affordable housing).Supervised a team of up to three Administrative Assistants and one Graphic Designer.Coordinated the creation of the Policy and Procedure Manual, including writing, formatting, and implementing the company's policies.Coordinated timely responses to requests to/from investors and syndicators.Oversaw and created artwork for print and digital marketing.Oversaw all social media marketing campaigns.Scheduled monthly training events for on-site employees.Monitored the progress of new developments from construction through lease-up until financially stabilized.Gathered due diligence to secure permanent financing for new developments.
