I can provide advice or training to providers in understanding and supporting individuals with complex needs, through completing comprehensive assessments and putting recommendations into practice.Skills include:• Excellent interpersonal, communication and interaction skills (both individual and with teams)• Complex challenging behaviour and Positive Behaviour Support expertise• Extensive experience in working with children and adults with complex challenging behaviour and mental health• Provide professional leadership • The development and maintenance of key relationships/networks across all stakeholders • A person centred approach, looking systemically at an individual’s situation and promoting and encouraging autonomy and control where possible• Extensive knowledge of the legislative and best practice frameworks that impact on the needs of people with learning disabilities• A good knowledge of the Bristol area with an extensive network of positive relationships with individual providers. • Assessment and management of risk for people with complex needs using specific tools - CRAMP (Comprehensive Risk Assessment and Management Plan) and PRP (Positive Response Plan, Relapse Plan, Recovery Plan) has enabled risks to be identified and managed positively and advocate for individuals to ensure services do not become risk adverse.• Leading and development of new services across organisational and professional boundaries• A highly motivated and determined person who thrives in highly pressurised challenging situations

As Team Leader of the Challenging Behaviour Support Team, this was both a daunting and exciting opportunity to move away from an institutional setting to the community. I recruited and trained a skill mix of clinicians to take on the role of supporting adults/children Pan Avon whose behaviours challenged services. National Guidance supported the development of services such as this and my role was to take the key recommendations from this guidance and implement locally.
