Tracy Murphy, B.Sc., M.Sc. is the founder and president of Asha’s Farm Sanctuary and continues to serve as the director for the Buffalo Vegan Society. Founded by Tracy in 2007, the Buffalo Vegan Society is Western New York's first vegan organization that brought together like-minded individuals for fellowship, education and support, while hosting expert vegan medical professionals to lecture throughout the year. In 2014, Tracy left a very lucrative career as an Assistant Vice President at HSBC (a global corporation) in order to direct our sanctuary full-time. She brings with her extensive leadership, organizational and business experience from her tenure at HSBC where she served as officer-in-charge in global project management. Tracy was responsible for leading multiple global teams in technology, legal, compliance, risk, human resources, operations, and marketing in a very fast-paced and -changing global environment. In addition to this demanding role, Tracy was responsible for working with HSBC's operational teams to review internal processes and improving their overall performance efficiency which included the presentation of Six Sigma (Lean) methodology and process mapping. Tracy holds a bachelors of science in management and masters of science in leadership at the prestigious Duquesne University. She lives with a rescued canine companion, Samsara, and rescued cat, Scarlet. Her beloved dogs, Asha and Beemer, best friends forever, passed away in 2012 and 2017. Six months after Beemer's death, Odin, a 12 year English Mastiff and the love of her life, passed just before Christmas. He was rescued by Tracy in 2008 after he was dumped at an animal shelter. Tracy’s recent rescues are two feral kittens she trapped just before winter. She named these orange feline siblings Rupert and Riley.

She was responsible for leading multiple global teams in technology, legal, compliance, risk, human resources, operations, and marketing in a very fast-paced and -changing global environment. In addition to this demanding role, Tracy was responsible for working with HSBC's operational teams to review internal processes and improving their overall performance efficiency which included the presentation of Six Sigma (Lean) methodology and process mapping. She retired early to pursue her interest in the not-for-profit sector.
