I have over 30 years of law enforcement experience, of which eight years have been in police management or supervisory positions. I have more than 24 years of experience with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and I currently serve as a Lieutenant. In my current assignment, I am the Safe Schools Lieutenant responsible for overseeing all School Resource Deputies providing law enforcement to every school within the county jurisdiction. I have four years’ experience as a Homicide Sergeant as well as seven years as a Homicide Detective. My previous experience includes experience as a correctional officer with the Florida Department of Corrections for approximately one year. Additionally, I served our country as a Security Police Officer in the United States Air Force for four years. In these positions, I have utilized my skills in leadership, community partnerships, and labor relations to focus on an approach which is community-oriented and committed to service. My diverse work experiences, along with my educational background, afford me the ability to apply sound leadership/management theories and principles to daily work situations in an efficient and effective manner. Integrity, compassion, accountability, and professionalism are the core values I utilize on a daily basis to lead by example.
