Stewardship and oversight of Federal-aid transportation planning programs and activities Partnering with the Iowa Department of Transportation, Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs), Regional Planning Affiliations (RPAs) and local government officials. Administration of the following program areas: transportation planning, Iowa DOT Research administration, grant administration, public involvement, geographic information systems (GIS), highway statistics, bicycle/pedestrian programs, freight planning, air quality conformity, livability, climate change, Environmental Justice, Census data, travel demand modeling.60-day rotational assignment in the FHWA Headquarters, Office of Freight, Washington D.C. – Developed technical framework for the designation of the national Primary Freight Network (PFN); performed spatial and statistical analyses of numerous scenarios, recommended modeling approach, data sources, parameters, process, and interim deliverables for the designation of 27,000 miles of roads for the PFN designation; served as the Freight Analysis Framework (FAF) Manager during this special assignment.
