I thought I'd let you hear from the people I work with by posting some of the feedback I receive:"I attended the session Youth Express put on at Monte Pio. Tracy's knowledge and engaging personality made it an exciting and interesting session. Being a proud Aboriginal man myself I really enjoyed understanding and learning new methods on how to use our passion for culture to empower, inspire and improve our next generation. Thanks :)""So lovely meeting you today. Thank you for being so authentic with your story telling. I have walked away learning so much!""Sis.. I used the term ‘colonial load’ today.. instead of my default “cultural load” & I feel so goddam enlightened 🤣🙌🏾""I see adult jobseekers/prospective students, so Tracy's honesty and advice was appreciated as these are cultural things that we won't find out from other sources. It builds on PD from our local traditional owner’s corporation. Good reminder to be culturally sensitive and offer options to get info from community which may be a safer space as well as look for opportunities for real partnerships working together.""Some of the strategies for having a conversation Tracey mentioned were excellent. Be gentle, provide processing time, respect, pause, no assumptions, be aware of different values system, in a learning sharing space etc.""That a person may not use their identify if they don't feel safe. Helps explain why my siblings identify as First Nations and I have not. Reassuring to know that it can change based on context.""I learnt so much and had so many takeaways that I have reflected on and will influence how I live and work in the future. Some examples were - Listening to hear and understand, not to respond. Understanding and respecting different values. Rights and responsibility are opposite sides of the same coin. Importance of co-designing"Want to hear more - book a workshop!! Message me.
