Primary Accomplishments:-Appointed General Counsel and Compliance Officer for Company’s subsidiaries.-Successfully lead a coalition of insurance companies to achieve change in state regulations that allowed the Company to re-enter markets in two states to add over $40 million to Company sales.-Worked with a coalition of other insurers/legislators, often testifying, to successfully shape legislative proposals that resulted in minimal operational interruptions, expense reductions, and profit increases.-Actively manage the Company’s special investigative unit (SIU) resulting in recovering over $1.5 million from fraudulent activity.-Drafted, trained, implemented, and currently manage the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, including annual updating and training, agent code of conduct, privacy program, anti-money laundering program, and many other miscellaneous internal programs all focused on protecting the Company’s interests.-Drafted multiple contracts with company subsidiaries and external vendors.-Worked collaboratively with outside IP attorneys to protect the Company’s intellectual property rights through patent applications and trademark registrations.-Built the Company’s compliance department from the ground up, fostering a corporate culture of compliance.-Advised senior leadership on strategic initiatives from a compliance perspective, ensuring alignment with organizational values and objectives.-Cultivated strong relationships with internal business units, customers, and regulators to promote a collaborative environment. -Assisted in recruiting, hiring, and training successful legal and compliance team members.-Manage Companywide training on compliance related issues.-Work closely with IT leadership on drafting and reviewing technical contracts, advising on company security concerns and vendor management.

Responsible for writing and review of contracts, working with multiple departments in implementing new laws and regulations, and overseeing existing laws and regulations. Worked closely with General Counsel on special projects.Responsible for overseeing anti-fraud and SIU programs including responding to fraud inquiries. This includes monitoring laws and regulations for all 50 states and the federal government along with interacting with state regulators and legislators on a variety of regulatory and legislative topics.
