Health technology start-up that connects people to trails, paths, parks and open space in communities across the United States to increase physical activity and improve physical and mental health. localeikki was an outgrowth of my professional expertise in physical activity, public health and urban planning and my own experiences as a frustrated traveling runner. localeikki embodied my passion for creating environments that enable people to make healthy choices, and my drive to explore new paths.We were a small, largely bootstrapped team (3 FTE).- Created concept of localeikki and led it from vision on paper to live on the web and in the Apple app store- Coordinated user research, including user interviews, product beta testing and persona development- Facilitated growth of park/trail/open space content from 0 to 1,700 entries, with coverage in all 50 states and most major metropolitan areas in United States via volunteer brand ambassador program, park and recreation partnerships and social media promotion- Oversaw content and customer management, including blog writing, social media, e-newsletter, customer email communications and engagement campaigns- Cultivated relationship with Concur, a travel and expense management platform serving 22,000 businesses worldwide, from cold email on LinkedIn to localeikki being the only health and fitness app featured in the Concur App Center- Managed business development, budgets, partner/investor/advisor relations and communications

Online lecturer: Community Planning and Public HealthThis course examines the relationship between the community planning and public health issues/outcomes, using the social ecological model as a framework. By the end of this course, students will be able to:- Identify examples of the interaction between community planning and public health at the local, regional, state and national level- Explore the role of data and technology in the development of healthy communities- Examine the health of communities through various assessment tools- Apply what is learned in the class to the design and planning of healthy places and development of health-supportive policy

The organization and the athletes also worked with community partners to reduce childhood obesity in Northern Arizona through education and encouragement of physical activity and healthy eating in youth and families.In my roles as Founder, President and Past-President I was responsible for the application and approval of our 501 (c)(3) status; served as the main liaison with our national sponsors (New York Road Runners, USA Track & Field Foundation, Houston Marathon Foundation and Running USA) and race directors/running industry partners across the United States and managed staff responsible for day to day operations and community fundraising.
