In January 2022 I was appointed to the SLT role of Group Planning Manager, to establish a new Planning function across all Development, Design and Construction Projects in AU and NZ. I have established a new Planning team and implemented an Enterprise Planning System (OPC) to allow Portfolio/Programme and Project level monitoring and reporting. I received approval for my Business Case for Oracle Primavera Cloud in Oct'22 and successfully rolled out the system by Apr'23. Reporting to the Chief DDC Officer (Development, Design and Construction), I lead the planning function and maintain oversight of the DD&C Portfolio for the organisation. Post implementation of OPC I set up a cross business project team to integrate all Project Controls and Sales systems to enhance data driven reporting and speed up decision making. As the Programme Delivery Lead for Kiwirail I developed a national $1.3bn master programme of Maintenance and Renewals work for the RNIP. The main aim of the programme was to ensure the $1.3bn investment from the Ministry of Transport was allocated efficiently across project and BAU work to build a reliable and resilient Rail Network for the future. The allocation of 3 year budget is a major change for Kiwirail. This role enabled decision making at the right level and supported the organisation in providing visibility of progress to NZTA and the Ministry of Transport.My main responsibilites were:-- Prioritisation of the national Portfolio of Projects and Maintenance activities, introducing new ways of working to Kiwirail to improve planning methodology and project delivery. I was employed as a contractor on a project to deliver SAP to all European Caterpillar Sites. In this role I planned all activities in Primavera P6 , including all resources and associated costs. My Manager and team were based in Peoria USA and I led the European team.During this time I was also seconded to a Senior Planner role (contract) In this role I worked as a Prince2 qualified Senior Planner, delivering multi million pound projects across IT, Engineering Research, Quality and Engine Development. I became an expert in project planning, using both Primavera P6 and MS Project 2010 to produce critical paths, earned value management and accurate resource allocation against budget. I led workshops with stakeholders to produce comprehensive plans to drive successful project completion.
