Hired as Workers' Compensation Claims Examiner, promoted to Claims Supervisor in June 2003 and Claims Manager in January 2007. Duties include overseeing up to 7 claims examiners, overseeing the handling of claims, coordinating quarterly claim reviews with clients and brokers, editing written claim review summaries from examiners, auditing of examiner work, analyzing management reports, providing training, personnel decision making and annual performance reviews and ensuring the integration of benefits with other product lines. Began overseeing Paid Family Leave in May 2007, increasing to 12 the number of direct reports. Returned to handling claims in 2012 after many years of managing a team of examiners. Hired as a Claims Representative Trainee and promoted to Claims Examiner in January 1997. Duties included handling of litigated and in pro per claims to closure, payment of workers’ compensation benefits, providing quarterly progress reports to employers and brokers in the course of file reviews, rating medical reports to determine permanent disability awards, obtaining wage statements and calculating temporary disability rates, communication with medical providers, employers, attorneys, vendors and injured workers regarding status of claims.
