Being able to attend K-State is a dream come true for me. I was an immigrant who moves from Vietnam and speaks no English can now pursue my dream at one of the best colleges in Kansas. I struggle a lot when I first came to the United States but because I saw my parents work hard to give me a better education, I know that I should appreciate their hard work and try harder in school. On top of that, being a first-generation student taught me how to navigate myself around and being involved on campus. It is an ongoing learning process and I love it. Back in high school, I was an intern at a local bank and was also a Staples employee. Through all this position, I learn many skills I haven’t before. If you ask my coworkers, they would describe me as an outgoing and organize person. During the time I work with them it was easy because we all get along and I learned so many things from them. During my free time, I usually like to spend time with family and friends because I always busy with school or work and I’m guilty of not spending enough time with the people I love. I like to put family first and they also my biggest supporter, especially my father. He is my role model and the reason why I try my best in everything.
