Hello there, my name is Travis McCartney. My roots extend from a quaint and small Central Florida town, where my youth was filled with days at the beach and exploring the vast wonders of Florida's interior. I have not led the most perfect of lives. Like many, I've made poor choices, and yet I have learned and grown from them all. My proudest accomplishment has been raising my beautiful and thriving children through college and into adulthood. At 24, I decided to settle down and raise a family. Fast forward 20 years, I returned to college after a long and arduous culinary career. I graduated with high honors in IT management. However, my late entry into the field made me realize that the challenges of finding opportunities, especially in a world that seemed to favor younger candidates, were not going to be easy, or as fruitful, as I had expected.For the next 5 years, I became a traveling chef, exploring the country and living from moment to moment. That is when fate intervened. A friend of mine at work told me about an animal shelter that was opening soon. I was intrigued, as the many years I have spent in the culinary industry had taken a toll and I was interested in a career change, especially working close to a cause that was near and dear to my heart. Upon applying, I was offered a position at this shelter as an Operations Manager. Working there, I quickly understood that the world of animal shelters often prioritized appearances and ego over meaningful help. It was heartbreaking to receive calls about missing or found pets and not be able to offer substantial assistance due to certain policies.This experience tugged at my heartstrings and left me feeling completely helpless. The red tape it took to rescue just one animal was frustrating and time-consuming. Out of this frustration, Lost Paws was conceived. There had to be a more efficient and time-saving way to reunite lost pets with their owners. The vision slowly developed as it simmered in my mind for nearly two years. Finally, I decided it was time to turn this vision into reality.Now, I embark on a challenging journey - bringing this vision to life. With the help and support of a highly reputable tech team and Marketing Director, Lost Paws is perfectly positioned to transform the pet and animal welfare industry. My resolve is unwavering, in spite of any obstacles or doubts. My determination is resolute. Join me on this mission to revolutionize how we care for and protect our furry best friends.
