I started at Affirm functioning as a software engineer/architect, and designed the next iteration of Affirm's core financial system of record together with accounting and FPNA business teams. I then hired and managed a team to maintain that system through 10X growth, product changes, and ever increasing accuracy requirements and scrutiny.

Built Pixinote: a mobile app and service that sends beautifully simple physical notes by good old fashioned mail.· The technical co-founder. Worked with the CEO to establish the company's vision, strategy and goals.· Built the service backend from scratch in Go and PostgreSQL.· Hired freelance developers to build an AngularJS web frontend.· Led a development firm team to build the initial version of a react-native iOS app, then took over feature development.

I got started early in Restless Bandit, building an API service from scratch with Go and PostgreSQL for the customer-facing web product, and a resume ingestion process in Python/Gevent. Helped with hiring and managing the engineering team.

Initially contracted to advise StarMaker engineers on patterns for implementing new social graph features, then StarMaker extended the engagement to have me advise and help manage the backend team. Python on Google App Engine.

Bright hired me to clean up technical debt in their Python-based machine learning job and candidate classifier service. I found low-hanging performance wins, improved reliability by fixing bugs in process management and signal handling, and cleaned up concurrency issues that had been holding up workers.

I joined Neil Young’s high fidelity music startup as Chief Software Architect, responsible for creating storage and server infrastructure for a new online music store. I built this with Python and PostgreSQL on AWS.

Joined the internal tools and infrastructure team. Maintained the Python/Gevent backend for the Up fitness tracking wristband. Briefly consulted for an in-house embedded OS team to set up a Gerrit instance and establish a workflow around it.

Joined Lookout as a founding member of the infrastructure team. Set up horizontal sharding for the primary Percona/MySQL database and main Rails app.I also built an independent service providing continuous translation by watching git commits for English copy changes, automatically submitting them to a translation service, and generating commits with the results. It was then integrated into Lookout's existing Gerrit workflow.

I came into Google through the Slide acquisition, and continued in my role on the server team as one of two engineers supporting the common infrastructure for seven new and existing apps by about 35 developers.When the Slide team was absorbed into YouTube I moved into the infrastructure team and worked on the deployment process and storage and caching systems.

Joined as a member of the SuperPoke team (an early Facebook app), then quickly found myself as its sole maintainer. Added on maintainership of FunSpace and TopFriends (three apps totaling 25M monthly actives of 150M total install base) a few months in, and soon after began managing an international team of 10 engineers and QA testers.I later moved to the server team, where I scaled and built out features for the common infrastructure underpinning all of Slide's apps.

Became proficient in Python, HTML/Javascript/CSS, PHP, MySQL, and ActionScript on the job, and built interactive educational multimedia. Emphasis on web content and researching up-and-coming technology.

Carried out office upkeep and media production tasks, emphasis on technical support.

Over summers while in college I was here helping maintain office computers, testing new multimedia builds, and doing whatever the office needed at the moment.
