I am in my second semester at Rock Valley College pursuing an Associates of Engineering Sciences to transfer to Northern Ill. University for a major in Electrical Engineering.

 I was a Project Supervisor with Stratosphere Quality, where we perform quality assurance for major manufacturing facilities. My primary responsibilities include; meeting with engineers at the customer facility to discuss the problem and potential sorting methods, writing clear and concise work instructions for the Quality Inspector, demonstrate to the Quality Inspector the proper sort method, audit the inspector to ensure the procedure is followed, collect and document all data for the days sorting activities, and perform root cause analysis on any issues that occur. My secondary responsibilities include; production forecasting, conferencing with suppliers and the costumer, as well as monitoring and maintaining product stock for quality evaluation. As part of the leadership core at Stratosphere Quality I am responsible for recording the daily data in an excel production report. I must report all previously unknown defects in the parts to the customer and recommend a sort method for sorting. I must obtain and report clean points on all new projects.

In Afghanistan, my fire fighter team provided security for the ammunition supply point. I started my tour as day shift security, and was asked to write and implement the Standard Operating Procedures. After a short time, I was placed as a second and then third shift supervisor. I received various awards for my service in Afghanistan, some of them are; Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, NATO Afghanistan Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and the Overseas Service Ribbon.Prior to my deployment to Afghanistan I attended Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training. During Basic Training I learned basic leadership skills, problem solving skills, and I also learned to think of my feet. In Advanced Individual Training (AIT) I trained as a firefighter and it reinforced the Army values which I strive to live by to this day; they are, Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage.
