Imdex is the leading provider of real-time subsurface intelligence solutions to the global minerals industry. As Operations Manager - Australia, I am responsible for all the Engineering, Manufacturing, Service & Repair departments in the global headquarters in Australia. The Perth Engineering teams are a large, broad, multidisciplinary set of teams that are responsible for the full end-to-end engineering of the system, from the materials and mechanical housing design, the electronics and advanced sensors, the embedded software that drives the device, to the mobile application that interrogates through to the centralised Cloud System that receives all the tool data. The Manufacturing team is globally responsible for the documentation, supply chain production, assembly and calibration of supplied tools, distributing to Imdex's sales regions around the world. The Service & Repair team handle all scheduled tool services and repairs across the Asia Pacific region and some global regions.My role is required to liase with the stakeholders across the Imdex business (Product Management, Finance, Sales, Logistics, HR) to transparently engage them in addressing requirements and priorities for delivering products and production to market. I need to maintain technical excellence across the team whilst ensuring a positive team culture across the diverse department.

Worked with GRG to deliver a business plan for a startup concept, taking it from conceptual stage to building a marketing, product and business strategy that would take them forward. In addition to the business plan, I converted the plan into sales presentations for them to use in pilot customer engagements and attended industry body meetings to participate in opportunity identification.

Management, delivery and customer support responsibility for all Transaction and SOA monitoring capabilities within the Application Performance Monitoring team. This includes Browser, End User, Synthetic, Tracking, SOA and Mobile monitoring capabilities. Global oversight of and personnel responsibility for teams across US, China, Ireland, Poland and Italy. Led transformation of transaction tracking platform from on-premise solution to a Software as a Service offering, overseeing 11 different global teams and delivering on time in 6 months (from concept to go-live). This included a new architecture and the adoption of new technologies for messaging (Kafka), content (JSON) and document store (MongoDB). Achieved senior executive buy-in on delivery and business strategy around prioritization, customer feedback and iteration. Invested in Continuous Delivery Best practices to enable faster, more stable delivery of components for SaaS offering. Compliance and ownership responsibilities for local infrastructure, including multiple, cross platform cloud environments. Worked with Product Management and Director of Development on strategy for Application Performance Monitoring and delivery timelines.

Ownership of release delivery responsibilities for entire Transaction Monitoring release, working with teams in USA, China and Australia to deliver all new versions (2) and maintenance releases (4). Led the change to transformed the development methodology from a traditional waterfall methodology to Agile Development across three globally distributed teams. Applied change management techniques to create and maintain the change both in the team and within executive stakeholders. Learnt and rolled out new tools to support transformation.Took on development and release responsibilities for SOA monitoring product, including transition planning from foundation team in US. Proposed convergence plans to deliver better operational efficiencies and increased customer value. This included architectural changes and implementations in both Transaction and SOA monitoring.Responsible for IT infrastructure for entire Perth office, overseeing IT services, capital purchasing and servicing. Oversaw relocation of office.

Managed and led development of two different products from concept to delivery, whilst maintaining support responsibilities for legacy Micromuse acquisition offerings. Managed new development opportunity for Performance Monitoring Analytics. Oversaw initial requirements gathering, hired new team, design, new development, testing and delivery of first version. Worked with remote global teams in order to achieve solution delivery. After first release, successfully transferred mission to Poland in order to take on new Development responsibility for MQ Transaction Tracking. Transitioned team to new product, working with senior MQ architect to design and develop an MQ Transaction Tracking solution that would track across both mainframe and distributed frameworks. Quick turn prototypes led to rapid expansion of domain support to include Message Broker, CICS Transaction Gateway, Web Services and .NET. Participated in customer feedback tour for new offering, visiting 6 different customers, across 5 days in NE USA

Had ownership of performance reporting requirements. Started from bespoke report creation for our home grown reporting solution. Transferred network monitoring reporting solution from London office, and owned all development, testing and customer support. Assisted with Quallaby acquisition, onsite at US HQ (Boston) for Day 1 transfer and implemented initial integration between reporting offerings. Conducted subsequent education presentation on new acquisition technology.
