As a Jr. Systems Administrator I have the following roles and responsibilities:•Managed network and computer issues through a custom user portal and IT management system including troubleshooting and installation of devices in a multivendor environment including Windows 7 to 11 computers/laptops Macintosh PCs, IP Phones, Printers, and Wireless Access points, alongside routers, switches, and 3rd party networking equipment for automotive applications.•Managed groups, and permissions for more than 250 users in a Windows Server Active Directory environment as well as troubleshooting and resolving issues within Windows Server 2008 – 2019.•Created and managed VMs in both Hyper-V and VMware Workstation as well as deployed software containers using Docker.•Researched and proposed a cybersecurity initiative focused on hardening the company from and educating employees on phishing attacks. •Monitored end-user security controls to protect the company from security risks. •Implemented an asset management system for the IT team to track inventory items such as laptops, tablets, desktops, and monitors to reduce waste and secure hardware.•Deployed a new HR Administration Portal alongside the ITSM to increase efficiency for on-boarding new employees.•Supervised work placement and co-op students in the IT department during their work/study periods, guiding them while they gained experience as IT professionals.

While at York Electronics I supported Radio and Telecommunication Technicians contracted to various General Motors dealerships in Ontario as well as provided technical assistance to service teams at GM dealerships across Canada. I taught myself how to troubleshoot and repair/replace various electronic parts for GM vehicles such as OnStar Modules, BCMs, HMIs, Instrument clusters and Radio receivers, as well as kept up to date with new technology through GM's engineering portal.
