As a Project Manager at BECS, I have the privilege of finding and providing valuable building envelope solutions to our clients. We specialize in building envelope consulting for both existing buildings (repairs/renovations) and new construction. We provide turn-key services for existing buildings by managing the entire project, from initial investigation, to design and bidding, and finally to QAQC/project oversight. For our new construction clients, we provide: design reviews, QAQC inspections, and mock-up/in situ testing. My education in Finance and Business helped me to develop skills in: cost, time, team and risk management. Early in my career, these skills were honed in the hospitality and tourism industry. My experience in that industry also helped me to develop a strong foundation in customer service, which I still value above anything else. From the hospitality and tourism industry, I transitioned to more technical positions, where my knowledge and skills of the building and construction process were developed and sharpened. As a result, I became proficient at: interpreting project specifications and drawings, interpreting and applying ASTM and similar standards, developing test plans, equipment fabrication and certification, and writing comprehensive investigation/testing reports. My position as a Laboratory Supervisor provided me with a rare glimpse from product development and certification to performance and eventual failure. As an Engineering Field Technician, I focused heavily on quality control inspections during each phase of new construction. These inspections focused on: framing, MEP, fenestration products, exterior walls, cladding, roofing, and waterproofing. Thankfully, my education and skillset are a perfect fit for the challenges that I face every day in my current position, a position, which I am fortunate to say, that I am extremely passionate about.
