About Trenton Evans

The Short: A decade of experience working as a material developer and technical designer. I manage the material library and am in charge of all powersports fabrics at Klim. The Long: In ten years, I've learned a lot about the motorcycle industry working for KLIM. My time is split almost in half working as a material developer and a technical designer. As my responsibilities have increased, so has my work load and knowledge base. I manage both digital and physical fabric libraries and perform all testing needed for internal validation and external CE certification. I've developed products ranging from the humble $40 sublimated jerseys to the bombproof $1,700 all weather Gore-Tex jackets to abrasion resistant $300 Kevlar Jeans. At times I've needed to traveled to Asia to get things done with our factory partners. Regardless what I work on, I'm constantly amazed how many moving parts going into a completed garment and even more amazed at what I'm able to accomplish.

    I am a developer on Klim's motorcycle team, namely all of Klim's Off-Road segment. I have a wide breath of responsibilities ranging from motocross racing jerseys (XC Line) to the super beefy/tough adventure pieces (Adventure Rally Jacket and Pant). In order to stay on top of all my projects, I'm expected to know everything about sublimation, reflective trims, TPUs/TPRs, Gore-Tex fabrics, 3M products, D3O armor, Velcro hook & loop closures, YKK zippers, PU laminate, DDW water repellants, threads, and a myriad of fabric types. I'm expected to follow the development process of each style, ensuring that factory communication is maintained. This includes producing Tech Packs, Size Charts, BOMs, and Sample Comments. I also am in charge of communicating with suppliers to ensure that custom trims are created and Lab Dips are approved.
