• Work with general contractors (BNB, DPR & others) to plan and execute several major facilities upgrades and tenant improvements for plant, office and production areas, working toward economy of operation, maximum use of facilities and equipment, and compliance with FDA rules and regulations while acting as the project manager. Work with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detailed drawings. Perform design reviews for capital equipment replacement and facility projects/upgrades. Inspect construction and installation progress for conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.• Main point of contact for all electrical tasks for over 700,000 sqft of office, lab and manufacturing space. Coordinate arc flash studies, infrared scanning of electrical gear, triennial electrical maintenance, update single lines and plan all electrical work to fit the manufacturing schedule and minimize production downtime. Update piping & instrumentation diagrams, review submittals and construction drawings almost daily.• Plan and execute equipment (HVAC, compressed air, HHW boilers, RODI etc.) shutdowns to perform quarterly and annual maintenance following SOP’s to comply with FDA rules and regulations. Operate, control and respond to alarms on the building management system (Metasys) daily. Act as the on-call engineer on a rotation schedule.• Planned and executed a 1 year fire alarm upgrade modernization project with Dynalectric to replace all fire alarm panels, wiring and devices at four buildings (~350k sqft) with all panels being networked together using Edwards hardware and software.

Also take responsibility for field service calls within the same customers. • Troubleshoot, install and work on electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, plc systems, water systems, steam systems, and a large majority of lab/ research equipment.• Manage all parts ordering and inventory for the entire San Diego service group.

Greater San Diego Area

• Install, repair, rebuild and service operating room equipment in surgery centers, hospitals, pharmaceutical, and biotech facilities.• Troubleshoot equipment to identify issues of improper function (i.e. electrical, plumbing, circuit board repair fault, etc…)• Perform electrical safety testing and preventative maintenance inspections to assure correct operation of equipment (equipment including glassware, tunnel washers, surgical instruments, steam sterilizers, steam generators, operating room tables/lights, RO water systems and other biotechnical equipment)
