Summer Camp Counselor at Camp Ranachqua. Responsibilities include: - Instruct campers ages 11-18 about safety, protocol, behavior, techniques, and skill within the Handicraft area and camp overall. - Participate in skits, singing for scout vespers, maintaining campwide cleanliness, addressing any issues brought up by campers and leaders, directing mealtime program, and creating a fun learning environment. - Learn about working with younger scouts, patience, and effective teaching techniques.Present myself as a strong and moral role model for the scouts, to teach respect, patience, kindness, helpfulness, hard work, and trust. - Work with other staff to assemble entire campsites e.g. set up tents, move and clean tent platforms, set up sleeping cots, clean out lean tos, take inventory for important campsite supplies, etc. - Work with other staff to do camp chores, including serving lunch, maintaining campsites, and cleaning the dining hall/bathrooms. - Teach Art, Graphic Arts, Sculpture, Textile, Basketry, Game Design, and Leatherwork merit badges. - Ensure campers have a safe, fun, and educational experience. - Participate in team building/bonding exercises with staff.
