Currently based in Brisbane contracting to Santos where I have been scheduling across two eastern Queensland Coal Seam Gas regions and transitioning into a third in New South Wales. As a self-managed maintenance planner/scheduler at this well-known and busy leasing company my role is predominantly to oversee the preventative maintenance aspects of over three hundred pieces of earthmoving machines, prime movers and light vehicles using the MEX Maintenance Management System.Responsibilities include:• Running reports on machine hours and analysing machine hour trends to predict service intervals.• Scheduling maintenance and creating service plans critical to the business’ success.• Effectively communicating maintenance responsibilities with relevant maintenance managers and supervisors.• Creating service due reports and scrutinizing the maintenance scheduling software to ensure nothing is missed• Adding new assets and developing strategies to improve reliability and efficiency.• Review and update machinery service sheets to meet OEM standards to capture important testing and safety data. • Scheduling vehicle inspections with Queensland Transport, services with compliant repair agents.• Liaising with Caterpillar and Komatsu to purchase parts in a timely manner.Achievements:• Having an eye for detail and catching maintenance prior to it becoming breakdown.• Working efficiently to clear the backlog of work previous to my employment.• Learning a completely new software framework and quickly develop more effective ways of doing things.

As the Chief Engineer Officer onboard the vessel, I was the maintenance planner and scheduler of all machinery, equipment and electrical systems using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) while supervising an engineering department of four crew. Responsibilities included:• Planning and preparation of current and future projects, work schedules and services.• Identifying benchmarks for reliability and safety, assigning tasks and evaluating their completion.• Maintaining spare parts and consumables inventory essential for smooth operations, prepare monthly budgets and perform maintenance reviews.• Liaising with and acquiring external contractors, service providers and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) to ensure consistent maintenance standards and evaluate invoices for completeness and accuracy.• Co-ordinating with the vessel’s management company to conduct internal audits of the engineering management system procedures and meet with external surveyors to ensure vessel is complying with all national and international maritime rules and regulations.• Maintaining a safe work environment through risk assessments and permits to work as well as teaching engineering and providing safety training to the company’s junior personnel vessel wide.Achievements include:• Successfully ensured operational readiness of vessel at all times with the engineering team.• Expanded the CMMS to encompass new maintenance requirements and improve framework of existing maintenance to meet OEM standards.• Planned and supervised the successful completion of a major in-frame overhaul of two 3516B Caterpillar Main Engines, two 7510 ZF Reduction Gearboxes and three C9 Caterpillar Main Generators.• Planned and oversaw a major HVAC Control System refit including design and integration of Ethernet network back bone and replacement of a 500lbs six-cylinder compressor. • Improved the efficient and safe running of the team through enhanced workplace harmony and equality.

Assisted the Chief Engineer Officer in the smooth operation of the vessel’s machinery and equipment as above responsibilities as well as liaise with the yacht owner and builder on current warranty items that need to be addressed while the vessel was travelling in remote areas. Achievement of this position:• Setting up the CMMS starting with the inventory, ensuring correct quantity of parts are stored on the vessel, planning and preparing work orders and continually improving and maintaining the CMMS and Standard Operating Procedures.• Planning and conducting a top end overhaul on the main generator in the Maldives.• Successfully performing maintenance on 16V MTU 4000 series main engines in remote locations.• Training and mentoring the junior engineer with best practices for yacht maintenance and safety.• Improving and maintaining all AV/IT equipment and connections onboard as the Electrical Technical Officer.• Trusted by the owner of the yacht on improvements and plans for next vessel under construction.

Working a 7-on 7-off roster as a self-managed maintenance planner and the sole diesel mechanic for the mine site. • Efficiently prioritising service and maintenance requirements of five 785 Komatsu trucks between breakdowns.• Confidently diagnosing electrical, mechanical and hydraulic system faults and quickly rectifying these problems whilst following company safety protocol.• Ensuring priority parts were available at all times and liaising with Komatsu Head Office for service and support.

Working as part of a small team responsible for the service and maintenance of a wide range of mining equipment. • Quickly adapting to the new environment after the Australian Army and becoming a trusted team member.• Conducting various repairs, services and inspections on C510 haulage trucks, Side tippers, CAT graders & loaders, coaster buses, light vehicles, and lighting plants.• Attend machine breakdowns and promptly diagnose and repair faults with hydraulic and electrical systems.

In the Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Corps, I was assigned to the Combat Service Support Battalion. I continued to improve my skills as a trusted and relied upon heavy diesel mechanic which enabled me to be selected for two deployments to Afghanistan (Apr 2009 – Jul 2009, Feb 2010 – Nov 2010). • Mandatory training of the Army’s special-purpose vehicles providing quick turnaround and prompt breakdown maintenance/recovery of vehicles in the field to support more than 1,000 active soldiers in battle zone.• Technical inspections, analyse oil sample reports, prepare reports with the planned maintenance system and fill vehicle logbooks with classification information.• Manage a small team as well as supervise and instruct on the job trainees and assign tasks to keep in schedule.• Service, maintain, repair and modify plant equipment including: a wide variety of earthmoving and materials handling equipment; a large fleet of bushmasters and Australian Light Armoured Vehicles (ASLAV) vehicles; a large fleet of armoured personnel carriers, Mack trucks, Mercedes Unimog’s and Landrovers.

The completion of self-paced theory-based training with a 97% pass mark and detachment to several civilian and military establishments for practical experience allowed me to complete my trade in record time of just 2.5 years.

I valued my time in Basic Soldier Training as it taught me discipline, teamwork, initiative and courage to complete this gruelling training and prepared me for the challenges ahead.
