Responsibilities:Rig operations:Ensure rig in compliance with all state, federal, and international laws and regulationsMaintain proper vessel stability and position at all timesSupervise and monitor rig stability and ballasting systems during rig movement andplacement operationsPrepares and/or secures the unit for towing operations and performs all ballastingoperations when required at locationCalculates and documents all stability and load calculations before, during, and after rigmoving operationsProvides technical support and assists the operations as necessary during casing jobs,cementing, transferring of bulk materials, etc., to ensure these operations are carriedout in a continuous uninterrupted mannerMonitor daily weather information at the rig site for wind direction, wind speed, visibility,sea state, and prepares the rig for each mode of operationMaintain all rig damage control equipment at proper inventory levels and in workingorderFunction as the safety officer in the absence of the Safety and Training SpecialistActing Deck Officer while operating on location in charge of supervising all cargotransfers, and rig ballast adjustments and loading compensationSupervise the Crane Operator and roustaboutsEnsure deck crew is maintaining the rig in proper state of repair and preservation,keeping the deck clean, orderly, and having equipment prepared for drillingCoordinating with the driller to organize and plan all deck operations to ensure drillingoperations are not delayed by material and equipment requirementsCoordinating stowage of drilling equipment in proper locations consistent with on goingdrilling operations to ensure personnel safety and prevent equipment damage Supervise the deck crew during cargo operations to ensure personnel and equipmentsafetySupervise all connections when transferring bulk fluids from or to supply boats.Supervise safe tank entry procedures ensuring 100% compliance

Maintenance and Repair:Assist in executing and overseeing the projected maintenance, inspection andcertification programs applicable to his assigned area, such as valves, piping,instrumentation, etc.Maintain meteorological monitoring and recording equipment.Assist in troubleshooting and minor servicing and repair of equipment in his assignedareaPeriodic inspections on structural parts and systems on the rigPerform other maintenance operations as directed by the Rig Manager· Operations support:Perform routine “barge watch” and monitoring duties in the ballast control room while onlocation and during transit/towCarry out ballast/deballast operations to ensure rig is on even trim at desired draftServes as radio operator while on dutyRegularly tour area of responsibility to ensure safety and integrity of the unit ismaintainedPerform routine observations and recording of meteorological data, current (speed anddirection), sea surface, water depth, etc., for historical information and daily use by rigmanagementAssist in stability planning of ballast, consumable liquids and cargo storage on the rigCarry out various administrative functions and projects as directed by the rig manager orBarge EngineerMaintains knowledge of marine operations, drilling operations, operation of equipment,rules and regulations, company policies, in order to act as Barge Engineer in anemergency, promotion, or otherwise Records:Submit reports on all equipment under his control as and when required by the BargeEngineerIn cooperation with rig management, keep records of all maintenance accomplishedProvide progress reports of work accomplishment each month to rig management, aswell as detailed reports on any major breakdown, operational requirements orimprovements needed within his area of responsibilityMaintains Radio, ship, and fuel Logs
