I founded 12 Spokes as a two-person software consultancy with my wife and business partner, and grew it to a 20-person $2.5M/year company. The 12 Spokes team was acquired in a talent acquisition in 2014.12 Spokes built hundreds of software products for clients, carrying them from ideation to MVP to 1.0, then handling ongoing maintenance and scaling.As president of 12 Spokes, I led a team of engineers, designers and product managers to build software the right way—following best practices and always behaving as partners in our clients' endeavors• Worked with clients in dozens of programming languages and frameworks.• Mentored engineers and designers in all aspects of software development, from best practices to client management skills.• Implemented the “12 Spokes Five,” a year-end party where all employees suggested, advocated for and then voted on a nonprofit to receive five percent of the year’s profits.• Empowered team members to solve problems and promoted a culture of ownership: "It's never not my problem!"
