My name is Trinitee Smith, and I am a junior at Elizabeth City State University majoring in Social Work with a minor in Criminal Justice. Being a first-generation college student, I place a high value on education. As a scholar, president, honor student, and a member of the social work honor society Phi Alpha, I have been able to flourish in my roles. I am passionate about empowering every individual and influencing respect among every person no matter the differences. I am a strong believer in mental health and law which is why I am following my purpose in becoming a Clinical licensed therapist and Elected Official. My two professions will be connected by listening to my community and their needs and wants from the policy they choose. Every person has the right to vote and have a say in policies that affect their children's school district and job income, etc. I will be a social worker in government deciding and writing policies that benefit people who are subjected to poor living because they are not able to excel in society. In conclusion, this is more than me because my purpose is fueled by helping others and I will continue to grasp skills and opportunities that will benefit my community.
