The students in their second year in the Honours Bachelor of Behavioural Psychology program are required to complete a placement within an assigned school in Kingston, ON. They commence by joining the classroom once a week for six weeks to practice certain Applied Behaviour Analysis techniques they are learning and have learned in their previous courses. Once this step is completed, they move on to the full time placement where they will complete tasks such as taking baseline data, and designing and implementing a behavioural intervention/treatment, while under supervision from the college and the school they are completing placement at. During the time they are at the placement, they are also engaging with the students and assisting the teacher with certain daily needs in order to facilitate the teachers day. Student will learn to be flexible, efficient, organized, and mature in order to be successful on their placement.
