I am a pre-medical professional taking a gap year as a Watson Fellow to explore how the COVID-19 emergency impacted grieving practices cross-culturally. Previously, I attained a B.S. in Cell Biology and Genetics from Rice University, with a minor in Medical Humanities and a B2 CEFR ranked Certificate in Spanish. I care deeply about the intersection of medicine and the humanities, particularly as it relates to quality of care for underserved populations. I have experience in a hospital environment clinically as an EMT as well as administratively in Risk Management and Corporate Compliance. I strive to help others via volunteering my time to causes I am passionate about, most notably racial justice, environmental justice, reproductive freedom, and healthcare. I am a lifelong learner with a strong interdisciplinary background in scientific research, editing, writing, grassroots organizing work, and Spanish.
