Hey there, I’m Tripat!I’m a recent Biomedical Engineering graduate from the highly esteemed, Sydney University. Over the course of my degree, I delved deep into many sub-topics of Biomedical Engineering, such as, Nanotechnology, Tissue Engineering, Rehabilitation Engineering, Medical Imaging, Biomedical Product Development, Quality Assurance/Control, just to name a few. In my final year, I found a great interest in Medical Imaging, and in particular, Positron Emission Tomography (PET). This lead to my thesis being titled ‘Creating an Automated Framework for Quality Control in PET Imaging’. With the use of scripting softwares such as Python and Matlab, I was able to develop a framework which analysed, resized, and grouped PET images to automatically calculate relevant quality control metrics. Following my studies, I was able to grab hold of an opportunity to work as a Workshop Engineer at ParagonCare, where I specialised in the routine servicing and repair of BodyGuard (BD) Infusion Pumps. This allowed me to apply the problem solving skills I learnt throughout the course of my degree to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with the infusion pumps, and repair them. I am now working as an On Site Biomedical Engineer at St George Private Hospital under SC Medical. I am responsible for the servcing and repair of all medical equipment on site at the hospital. This includes equipment such as Anaesthetic towers, Ventillators, Defribillators, Blood pressure monitors, Calf compressors, Operation theatre equipment, just to name a few.
