My experiences as a teacher have required that I facilitate Individual Education Programs for children across the autism spectrum including utilizing resources such as PECS, Competent Learner Model, Sensory Integration, Sign Language, and Behavior Management Strategies. I've developed creative ways to further the social skills of the students and adapted learning materials to the needs and levels of each child. I realize the importance of communication and leadership skills, and I know I interact with children on a level they can comprehend and respect. I have the patience and ability to work with children of all needs. Every day I look forward to using my skills along with my love of teaching to help students achieve their potential. I want to be able to help them gain some independence and create an environment where home and school can come together to enrich their lives.
