Provided legal counsel for the Tribe’s various departments. Primarily, the Tribe’s Gaming Regulatory Authority as well as the Tribe’s Family Services Department. Lead attorney in handling criminal matters. Typical duties included, but were not limited to, supervision and training for deputy solicitor generals; assigning and/or directing special projects for various tribal departments, and office management.

In the past years also provided legal counsel for the Tribe’s Community Development Department, Child Support Enforcement Program, and the Tribe’s Department of Natural Resources. Typical duties for the Gaming Regulatory Authority included, but were not limited to, providing the Gaming Regulatory Authority Board and Director of the Office of Gaming Regulatory & Compliance with legal advice on gaming related matters; being present at all Gaming Regulatory Authority Board meetings; ensuring compliance with IGRA, NIGC, State-Tribal Compact, and the Tribe’s Detailed Gaming Regulations; drafting and reviewing revisions to the Tribe’s Detailed Gaming Regulations, Personnel Polices, and System Internal Controls when necessary. Typical duties for the Family Services Department included, but were not limited to, working closely with Family Services’ Social Workers by reviewing and filing child protection petitions, trial preparation; and attending court hearings. Typical duties for the Community Development Department included, but were not limited to, providing legal advice to the Commissioner and Community Development in matters related to housing, real estate, and public works matters. Typical duties for the Child Support Enforcement Program included, but were not limited to, working closely with the Program’s case managers, and the Program’s director; reviewing and filing child support petitions; and attending Court hearings. Typical duties for the Department of Natural Resources was providing legal advice to the Director of the Real Estate Department in regards to any tribally owned or trust land matters.

Presided over juvenile, civil, family, and criminal cases. Other duties included: drafting orders, supervising Court staff, and partaking in administrative decisions.
