The focus of Elder Matters is to provide counselling and psychology services for individuals and families experiencing the challenges of ageing, including:• the lived experience of health and capacity challenges;• transitioning to later stages of life and/or residential aged care;• living with dementia and/or other degenerative conditions (including younger onset); • elder care responsibilities; and • the uniquely lived experience of loss, grief and bereavement.I have experience working in the aged care sector and have a deep respect for older people and their families facing diverse experiences of ageing, including health and capacity challenges, loneliness and isolation, diminishing independence and experiences of trauma. My professional goal is to raise awareness of, and provide professional and caring support for, people experiencing these and other challenges.Consulting services include:Presentations/psycho-education on elder care issues, including Person-Centred Care, Transition to Aged Care, Loss and Grief, Culture in Care and Life Transitions;Psychological support for individuals and couples transitioning to retirement; andFamily Support Groups for families of residents in residential aged care.
