I grew up in the MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) world, while simultaneously developing a skill set in identifying and resolving customer's needs. While in high school, I worked at Tacoma Screw Products, and as long as my manager was happy i didn't mind scrubbing floors or training new employees. On occasion, i was needed to service accounts, and soon found i had a talent for solving customer's problems. Tacoma Screw was a major influence in finishing High School and Junior College, I worked long hours to afford tuition and textbooks. School was also a valuable tool for developing professional contacts, one of which lead me to a career with Barnes Distribution.In my first three years at Barnes, I moved from a Customer Service Representative, to a Customer Sales Specialist, and finally to an Elite Account Representative ($750,000 or more annual in sales). In my second year in sales I achieved a sales goal placing me in the top fifteenth percentile out of almost 800 representatives nationwide. I was responsible for servicing Boeing, Swift Transportation, as well as 114 other accounts throughout Washington. I had to get creative to increase efficiency and eliminate bottlenecks wherever i could. I studied procurement practices and memorized customer usage patterns, allowing me to anticipate costly inventory shortages while simultaneously reducing timely back-orders.
