✪ National Accounts
CurrentAs the National Accounts lead for Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico, our vision is to become the front-line therapy in treating venous thromboembolism (VTE) by developing innovative devices that extract large clots from big vessels without the need for thrombolytic drugs.
✪ Aptitude: Director Of Cardiovascular Strategy
As the industry's leading technology provider, aptitude reduced the cost of healthcare engagements and accelerated strategic supply chain partnerships by allowing providers and suppliers to explore more category opportunities, streamline execution, and optimally improve performance. In this role, I leveraged CV insights and supplier relationships to exponentially grow aptitude's market penetration.
✪ Director, Strategic Cardiovascular Implementation
Within the physician preference categories of Cardiac Rhythm Management, Coronary Products, Peripheral Vascular Devices, Electrophysiology, Coronary Artery Bypass Graft, Perfusion, Heart Valves, Neuro Interventional Devices, and EP Reprocessing, consistently collaborated with both the top Academic Medical Centers and regional Aggregation Groups to obtain best-in-class contracting terms and innovative technologies. Tactfully leveraged national trends with local market dynamics to enable the largest medical device manufactures to be provider advocates. Over the course of 15 months, able to achieve more than $20M in standardization to strategic suppliers and $30M in cardiovascular savings to our hospital members across 39 completed engagements.
✪ Portfolio Executive, Cardiovascular
Selected to strategically align the largest medical device contracts within Vizient, with more than $2B in sales and $45M in revenue. As a leader in ongoing member-provided negotiations training and cardiovascular market analysis, was instrumental in the Novation - MedAssets contract integration process, completing the consolidation of dozens of contracts months before the assigned deadline. Maximized ongoing sales volume tiers to provide optimal value for hospital members. Consistently recognized during Experts in Action events.
✪ Chief Sales Officer
Given the previously successful acquisition, another market opportunity was evident for private practice physicians who wanted to maintain their independence. Hence, through the lens of what is needed for the future, I partnered with two industry leading colleagues to create "Ancillary Medical Solutions." We crafted an essential way for the forward-thinking physician to stay financially independent by bolting on a number of additional revenue streams and maintaining as much patient flow through as possible. From the ground up, I hired a nation-wide sales force, created an effective medical sales manual, drafted the product compendium for over 12 ancillary solutions, led weekly national sales calls, and negotiated the contracts / sales process with both suppliers and providers.
✪ Director, Business Development & Financial Solutions
As a start up company, I was able to help build multiple divisions within Sonexus Health so that it was subsequently acquired by Cardinal Health. This included business development and financial solutions roles throughout market expansion. Sonexus Health represented the only independent provider of comprehensive commercialization services that empowered pharmaceutical manufacturers by completely integrating innovative distribution models with financial solutions and patient access and adherence support services. The key here was that patients start therapy faster and stay compliant longer, while manufacturers own their provider relationships and gain actionable, real-time visibility into how, when and why their products are used.
✪ Senior Manager, Business Development
The Statewide Clinical Trials Network of Texas (CTNeT) was a newly created and start-up endeavor that aspired to create a cultural change in the way clinical cancer research is conducted. The network model was a first of its kind and fused innovative science with streamlined, core operational processes. I was contacted during my tenure at UT to help build out this innovative cancer research institute, given my previous success at US Oncology / McKesson. Numerous successes were accomplished in a short time with industry leading oncology companies and research institutes onboarded due to my contacts in the industry. It was subsequently decided that even with all of these accomplishments, that the CTNeT initiative be suspended by CPRIT (Cancer Prevention Research Institute of Texas).
✪ Physiologist And Manager, Cardiovascular Lab
As the world's largest medical center, the health care complex in downtown Houston is internationally recognized as a focal point of research and innovation. Selected to manage the cardiovascular laboratory at UT Physicians, I was instrumental in growing the flagship facility into four additional clinics across the city as the endeavor was to bring medical-center excellence to all of the citizens of Houston. From site selection to capital equipment installation all the way to staffing assignments, championed the growth of UTHSC-Houston throughout. Additionally, provided the foundational components for the HEARTS initiative (Houston Early Age Risk Testing and Screening) which partnered with the Houston Rockets NBA team to uncover cardiovascular issues in 6th graders throughout the city.
✪ Manager, Clinical Trial Development
As the lead representative to bring Phase I-III clinical trials from the leading oncology companies into the research network, I was charged with all elements of the research continuum from concept origination with physician focus groups, protocol development with medical writing, budget finalization with finance, trial initiation with program operations, and then study oversight with network operations. From the start, was instrumental in growing US Oncology from a community-based research network to a national platform of industry leading clinical pathway knowledge. Through all of our hard work at US Oncology, subsequently acquired by McKesson Health.
✪ Manager, Clinical Operations And Research Development
PTI's initial efforts centered on the development of a mobile gamma camera system for use in cardiac imaging and the 62Zn/62Cu radiopharmaceutical generator for use in positron emission tomography (PET) imaging. Although the greatest efforts have been focused on the improvement of the 62Zn/62Cu microgenerator, the company's activities have diversified substantially over the past decade and now include development of radiolabeling kits (64Cu & 62Cu), gamma ray detectors for PET, high pressure xenon gamma ray spectrometers, straw detectors for neutron imaging, and neutron-gamma straw detectors for homeland security. Key contributions at PTI included authoring grant submissions, maintain facility GMP/GCP, setting up clinical research sites, and presenting new research within the radiopharmaceutical products segment surrounding the 62Zn/62Cu microgenerator. Integral in securing major accounts with Merck, PetNet, and the University of Alabama Birmingham to conduct pivotal trials leading to multi-conference publications and presentations.
