Director Of Institutional Construction
• Function as Campus Architect and conscientious owner’s representative of a ($3.2B) 420-acre university campus and associated buildings.• Integral member of Campus Operations and Facilities Management leadership team.• Manager of 13 direct report staff responsible for campus infrastructure, strategic planning, space planning, campus archives, GIS mapping, consultant management, construction management, campus space utilization, lease agreements and furniture procurement.• Provide critical support to the Office of Research to obtain and maintain UT Arlington’s prestigious Tier 1 research designated status.• Responsible for development and adherence to design and construction standards, furniture and interior standards, RFQ’s/RFP’s, consultant contracts, and design and construction services.• Evaluate and negotiate terms of contractual agreements with consultants and contractors.• Responsible for navigating project funding and maintaining project budgets and schedules.• Function as Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) for campus design and construction activities providing regulatory review and oversight.• Review and approve project related expenses and payments.• Develop relationships and manage customers for all campus departments.• Advise campus administration and legal affairs on facilities management related topics.• Provide resources necessary to execute project related tasks.
